After you have seen Salzburg Museum, come to this restaurant. Guests state that they like Austrian cuisine here. Taste nicely cooked beef dumplings, goulash soup and wiener schnitzels to form your opinion about Zirkelwirt. Tasty kaiserschmarrn, chocolate cakes and apple strudels may be what you need. Some clients recommend delicious draft beer, house wine or cordial at this place. Great americano, tea or hot chocolate will make your meal tastier and you'll certainly come back.

The homely atmosphere of this spot allows visitors to relax after a hard working day. The atmosphere of hospitality of this restaurant highly depends on the staff, that is pleasant here. Service at Zirkelwirt is something one can call fabulous. Democratic prices are what you are to pay for your meal. The designer created a divine decor. The Trip score for this place is 4.5.

Really nice. traditional food
The atmosphere is nice but schnitzel was too dry
This is a 2 part review as we dined at Zirkelwirt for dinner one night and lunch the next day as part of Bob's Sound of Music tour. Zirkelwirt came up in our Rick Steves Tour Europe book so we decided to try this place one night. This place is a quick walk from Mozartplatz with some traditional dishes such as schnitzel and dumplings. There's a lot of options to choose from and we were recommended to try their dumplings and schnitzel. We tried the dumpling and the pork sandwich. The spinach dumplings were posted on the menu containing butter but we decided to try it without it which still made it tasty to eat. The pork sandwich was a little dry and was the equivalent to eating a pulled pork sandwich with coleslaw with a kick (mentioend as wasabi coleslaw on the menu) with french fries. Overall, it was okay and would not mind coming back to this place; however, I would have preferred to try somewhere else if given the option. The next day we dined at Zirkelwirt for lunch but decided to try their schnitzel. We tried their pork and veal schnitzel this time followed by the apple strudel. The schnitzel was alright to me but apparently it's popular at this restaurant. It's a little dry but was still good as I described it as the equivalent to a chicken/pork parm without the marinara sauce on top of it. The strudel was okay as it seemed to be a little warm but not as fresh as we would have thought. Overall, this isn't a bad place to try and eat while in Salzburg. However, after dining here two days in a row, I would probably go and try somewhere else since I was able to try a few of their dishes in my two different dining experiences here.
