Please don’t book this hotel (I want it all to myself)** I am actively fighting the urge to gatekeep this absolute gem, but my conscience won't let me. Honestly, please don’t read this review—I need this place to stay completely empty and undiscovered for my next trip. But fine, if I *have* to share, here is why this was hands-down the most wonderful stay of my entire trip: The Location is Too Convenient: It’s dangerously easy to get around. It's near a 7-Eleven and the Little Arena, and the sheer number of incredible eateries right downstairs is a massive threat to my diet. The "Feel Good" Service: The staff here are incredibly warm and friendly. I genuinely loved just being in the hotel; the vibes are immaculate. The Standard Double Room: The room was fantastic, but the real star was the bathroom. It’s super spacious, and the bathtub was absolute heaven after a long day of walking. (Crucial pro-tip: Make sure to double-check if your specific room tier comes with a bathtub when booking!) Perfect Wind-Down Amenities: The TV actually supports Netflix and YouTube, so you can easily rot in bed with your favorite shows and takeout. Overall, a flawless 10/10. Just do me a favor and don't book it on the exact dates I want to go back!

This is literally the worst 4 star hotel that I have ever stayed. The standard is max. 2-3 star. Just avoid 1. The corridor smells funny . It’s the odour of cheap deco material in the high temp weather 2. There are multiple moulds in the bathroom. And funny enough , after I made a complaint, the cleaner came and only cleaned partially, leaving the bathroom full of bleach smell. 3 . There are multiple stains on the carpets which make it more than annoying on the cleanliness 4 . The pillows actually smell !! This is more than disgusting. 5. The linens , towels are the lowest quality I have ever used. And the home deco is the cheapest I ever seen. 6 the wall is so thin that I was literally awoken by someone talking to the phone in the morning!!! 7. There is also a red light always on and when there was an electricity cut, the whole room would be fully lightened for 3 hours !! 8. The mattress is also horrible . Worst of all, they refuse to return and refund after all these unfixable issues no matter how I argue with them. I paid on average >200 pounds or 8600 twd per night , and this is more than furious Service: 1

arTree Hotel offers a convenient location near Taipei Arena MRT (5 mins walk away from Exit 4), with food options like a 7-11 convenience store opposite and a canteen in the same building. The hotel provides good value for money with complimentary mini-bars and free drinks in common areas. However, my experience with the hotel’s service (esp. their reservations team) and coordination left much to be desired, especially for a special event. I contacted the hotel a month in advance for help planning a surprise proposal, requesting room decoration assistance and a specific room theme to match my decor. While they confirmed they could help with decorations for a nominal fee, they also made it clear I would need to bring the decorations myself, which added unnecessary hassle and costs (i.e. purchasing, flying the decors at your own cost, and to research and comply with flight requirements). Unfortunately, despite following up with the reservations team, I received no further details on the fees. Upon arrival, I was disappointed to learn that my request hadn’t been logged, and when I attempted to resolve it, I was met with excuses and a lack of empathy from the staff. The reservations team informed me that, due to the New Year holiday season, they couldn’t assist with the decorations, despite previously agreeing to do so (with a nominal fee). What was even more frustrating was their instruction that I would have to prepare the decorations for them in advance (i.e. purchasing additional check-in weight and figuring out the flying requirements to get these decorations over) and only informing that they were unable to do so after arrival in Taipei and checking-in with the hotel. They also imposed an unexpected "cleaning fee" if I went ahead with my plans, which had never been mentioned before. As a result, I had to scramble to adjust my proposal, which ultimately impacted the experience (not to mention the unnecessary stress of having to adjust major plans on the trip with little help or info. in a foreign land). While arTree Hotel may be fine for a short stay in Taipei, I would not recommend it for events or special occasions. The lack of coordination between the reservations team and the hotel staff, along with the lack of customer service, made it a far less enjoyable experience than I had hoped for. If you're looking for a basic, no-frills place to stay, this hotel may still be a decent option, but not for anything beyond that. (p.s. during peak periods, the hotel prices could also increase significantly - my room charges was almost doubled due to the New Year peak period).
