Ate, nestled in the charming city of Onomichi, offers a cozy cafe experience for those lucky enough to visit. Located on the first floor of a building in Tsuchido, this unassuming spot is best known for its delightful bakery treats and freshly made coffee. Though not widely documented across popular dining directories, it maintains a minimal presence on Google with some enthusiastic visitor reviews highlighting its sweet offerings and welcoming atmosphere.
Open only on weekends, Ate manages to draw regulars with its simple yet satisfying menu that includes items like carrot cake, cookies, and a variety of seasonal specialties. Visitors have noted the conversational owners and the cheerful vibe that permeates the space, helping create a pleasant little cafe where smiles seem plenty. Accessibility remains a concern, however, as there isn’t a wheelchair-accessible parking area available on site.
With unknown operating hours beyond its weekend schedule and limited owner updates, prospective guests might find it challenging to pin down specific details before visiting. Yet, being characterized as "cheap," the cafe appears to deliver value alongside its offerings, making it worth a potential visit on a lazy Saturday or Sunday outing.
