I had the last min reservation (thanks Grace!) to this wonderful restaurant that’s Singaporean chef with a mix of Nanyang and Taiwanese flavors. I truly enjoyed the courses and each with detailed explanation. The wine selection and prices were very reasonable. Chef Ernest and entire staff made the night super enjoyable, definitely a place to return next time in Taipei Price per person: NT$2,000+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The waitstaff were overbearing, could not read the room, interrupted every conversation and for the ENTIRE meal- a chef with forearm tattoos and long hair stared me down, mean-mugging me the whole 2+ hr meal. Every time I looked up, he was staring right at me and talking amongst the staff in a way where they would all turn and look in our direction after he said something. It was seriously unnerving and uncomfortable, only to pay for a meal over 10000nt for food that was subpar, I left feeling uneasy. I’d recommend the owner investigate this person, it is clear just by my description who he is- longer hair, tattoos, mean stare. They also were cleaning the stove standing on it with their socks and mopping while we were still eating the last several courses. Take a hint, don’t stare, get to work, wear masks, be professional and don’t try to intimidate your guests paying your wages. Not surprised at all seeing other reviews here saying the same thing about the chefs “looking down” onto the customers. Ridiculous vibe for a new restaurant. Hi L, thank you for sharing your experience. We are sorry to hear that your visit was uncomfortable. What you described about staff interrupting conversations, the sense of being watched, and the overall atmosphere is not the experience we aim to create for our guests, and we regret not producing an enjoyable evening for you. Regarding your comments about feeling stared at and uneasy, we take this seriously. Our kitchen and service teams do work in close proximity to guests, but it should never feel intrusive or intimidating. We are reviewing this internally to ensure our team is mindful of how their presence and communication are perceived in the dining room.We do not want our guests to feel uncomfortable, and chef Ernest thanks you reminding us about the things we have to improve on.Thank you again for your feedback.Team earnestos

Chef was cute, would eat here again. Singaporean Earnest Toh,is the owner and Head chef of his latest creation the newly opened “Earnestos”. He was previously the chef at MUME and NKU. Ernest has a passion for excellence and has opened his own place where he has 100% creative freedom, and we are privileged to be some of the first diners at this A list venue. Currently in their “soft opening” since Dec 21, the team executing very well. A very welcome addition to Taipei with Singaporean inspired dishes that were great. Chef is the real deal - I failed to take photos of the deserts , but rest assured they were just as nice as the rest of the menu. The menu is still being fine tuned ( for example the Crab on the menu has been replace with lobster , and we tested a beef rib not listed in the menu in addition to the lovely duck main ) Fit and finish of the new space is modern and inviting ( as if you are entering Chefs home). So excited to have Earnest’s open! We sat at a table that is shared by the staff for plating , next to the open kitchen. It was fun to chat ( encouraged to do so by Chef)with the staff as they prepared the dishes . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $2,000+
