My first time at Ferdi — and unfortunately, it will be my last. We ordered a salad, mixed fried cheese with mushrooms, mac & cheese, a steak, and their signature burger with fries. Let’s start with the salad — there was nothing special about it. The mixed fried cheese with mushrooms was very basic. The mac & cheese was very good and the only dish we actually liked. The steak was also basic and a very, very small portion for the price. As for the signature burger, I’d suggest they change the name to a “sauce sandwich,” as there was barely any burger taste. Overall, I would recommend avoiding this place at all costs. If you’re in the area, you’re better off going to any nearby restaurant. The food at Ferdi was genuinely delicious. Flavours were spot on, dishes well executed, and on food alone, this place had real potential to become a favourite. Unfortunately, the entire experience was completely derailed by what can only be described as an audio nightmare. The restaurant was already overstimulating, but then came the horrendous Spanish playlist blasting at full volume. As if that wasn’t enough, nearby National Day events kicked off and suddenly loud Kuwaiti national songs were blaring simultaneously. The result was a chaotic, overlapping wall of noise that made it impossible to relax, converse, or enjoy the meal. We repeatedly asked the service staff to lower or turn off the music. They tried, but made it clear that management was insisting on keeping it as is. That refusal to accommodate a very reasonable request showed a complete lack of consideration for diners. A restaurant experience is about more than food. Atmosphere matters. Comfort matters. Listening to your customers matters. As good as the food was, Ferdi has lost me as a customer. One of the best burgers in Kuwait, nice & clean food. It’s delicious and I definitely recommend the Mac & cheese and the chips with guacamole.
