Postage stamp-sized literal underground DIY cave that also has a real bar. No really obvious signage, so take the stairs or the elevator to the cellar and look for the well-worn non-discript door with muffled sounds emanating from it. Well-booked place for noise performances, visual art installations, and other experimentalism. This spot would not be out of place in Portland, Oregon or Brooklyn, New York. This place is a genuine pillar of the scene. The vibe is welcoming and friendly, albeit subdued. If you're willing to make the effort and aren't intimidated, this can be a good place to meet interesting intellectual people -- especially between sets, when a lot of folks go outside to sit on the stairs foyer or on the planters of the building atrium upstairs. If you want to see and maybe meet Tokyo's avant underground community, this is the place. Artists perform on the floor, which is fine as the place is small enough that you won't have trouble seeing -- nonetheless, the sound engineers could work on their space management, since, between DJ set up and several artists, the "stage" will often take up more than half of the floor space of the room, when they could easily push further back into the corner and accommodate more audience. Because of this, it can get cramped at less than 25 people. Generally no one is stationed working the box office table to take your entry fee, but don't be lame and take advantage of that -- instead go to the bar and pay your cover to the bartender. These artists deserve to get paid and this place is operating essentially not-for-profit. Support them. Only one means of egress, so for very crowded events, take caution.
