Not only should Hakusan Shrine be visited, but also fudo. Among other Italian cuisune places to visit, this restaurant can be one of the greatest. Cooks at fudo do their best to provide guests with good ribs, gorgonzola and steaks. Visit this place and order delicious wine.

Traveling all the way from NYC to have Italian cuisine in Kyoto. Gotta say I was impressed by the overall execution and the precision in the seasoning. Loved the family style and so glad to have tried a local wine (皇). A couple things that brought down this experience: 1. It was crazy how smokey it got inside the restaurant. 2. Some meat was too chewy we had to spit it out at the end, specifically the カモハム and the 牛ホソ in the pasta. 3. The use of walnuts in the 八つ橋フォアグラ and the chocomint dessert felt a little repetitive (unfortunately I happen to not like walnuts so much). Some of these are me being a picky diner because we had a truly great night. Will come back again. Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 2

Amazing Fusion Spot in Kyoto We found Fudo by chance near our hotel—and what a treat! No reservation needed, yet we were warmly welcomed. The fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine is simply outstanding—creative, balanced, and full of flavor. Cozy atmosphere and great service. A true hidden gem!
