Not sure what happened. I checked that the café was open, and their Instagram was full of stories inviting people to visit. Just as we arrived, a woman came out to tidy the front of the shop. When she saw us approaching the door, she simply said “no, no, no” and directed us away. We ended up going somewhere else. Do they accept tourists? The place looks lovely on Instagram and in the reviews, so it was disappointing to leave without getting a chance to try it

Hidden up a small stairwell, this café opens into a bright, cozy living room–like space. The owner welcomes you with slippers and a smile — such a nice touch. Had Ethiopian and Guatemalan hand-pour coffee, both beautifully roasted and brewed with care. Fruity, clean, and easily the best hand-brew I’ve had in Japan. The vibe is warm and creative — locals, artists, and small business owners chatting and connecting. Even the restroom and hand soap show the owner’s attention to detail. She also cooks with local ingredients, and the curries looked amazing. A lovely café full of heart. Highly recommend and can’t wait to come back!
