Avoid the restaurant. All the dishes were not great.kids burger was inedible, mixed fish dish was poorly cooked. I was sick after eating it, while still in restaurant. Told staff but only got a discount for the burger and was told that my taste must be different when I complained about the fish dish. Would not recommend eating here to anyone. Plenty of better places locally. Food & drinks: Poor food in the restaurant Rooms: 1 Service: 2 Location: 2

We were there in the pre-season and found it essentially good. The rooms are not technically up to date (refrigerator old and noisy, only every second light bulb works, something stinks in the bathroom) but they are kept very clean. The owners are friendly people. The pool is really strange: relatively small and located in the inner courtyard, on the thoroughfare to the parking lot behind the hotel, which is also used by the quad rental company and therefore there is quite a lot of traffic right next to the pool. Rooms: We had one of the family rooms and they are ok because they don't face the main street. I think the normal rooms are pretty loud. Because of the road but also because of the quad rental right next door. Walkability: The beach can actually be reached within a few minutes if you're good on foot. There are dozens of restaurants right next door on the main street. However, a supermarket (Spar) that is suitable for self-catering is quite far away if you have to carry water bottles. The supermarket directly opposite is also well stocked, but rather touristy. Rooms: 3 Service: 4 Location: 4 Hotel highlights: Kid-friendly, Great value

Been going to alykanas twice a year for last 10 years , then I found the hotel la caretta ohh what a great find .. I have been in this hotel 3 times and going this year again.. Beautiful rooms ,really quiet peaceful place ,staff go out of there way to help you ..and the whole family work very hard to make your stay enjoyable.. Will never book into anywhere else in alykanas, definitely only this wee treasure a found .. You can book with the family directly for rooms and quads ect .. Great wee pool just outside and Cuba bar just at the side of the building..the food is amazing and the wee lassie that runs it all micheala is lovely ..can't wait to get back in June..then we start to plan our September one .. Please try this hotel you will not be disappointed..quads and cars next door Shop across the road fruit shop across the road bakers round the corner and the restaurant just at the front of your rooms ..then into Cuba bar for wee night cap ..bit don't miss out on booking this wee hotel a promise you will not be disappointed.. Jean Mccaw xx Rooms: I had a small ground floor flat for my self.but my room was amazing my bedding and towels changed daily The room was ample size for 2 adults easily.. nothing was to much when you asked the family for help .. Just love this wee place and will not be going anywhere else in the town xx Nearby activities: We hire quads and go all over the island.. It's a beautiful place and really nice to see couples holding hands .that would never probably..it's a lovers island Walkability: Plenty places to walk to and plenty of long walks to go ..take plenty of fluid and small sandwiches.. really easy to get Lost Take a map. The island is beautiful and you don't want to miss any of it xx Food & drinks: I am a very small and fussy eater so most places will make you anything you want ..anything xx Rooms: 5 Service: 5 Location: 5 Hotel highlights: Luxury, Great view, Romantic, Quiet, Great value
