I wanted to visit a cat cafe while in Japan but as a cat lover I wanted to make sure it was one where the animals were treated well and not stressed out. I was overjoyed when I found this on a list of ethical cat cafes in Tokyo. You can tell the staff here really care for the cats and their wellbeing and the cats are very relaxed and playful which tells me they’re happy. It is a rescue place and I believe they also adopt out from here so I hope all these adorable babies find their forever homes. They are so sweet. I don’t speak much Japanese but the staff were very accomodating and I had a lovely, relaxing afternoon with a latte watching the cats play and sleep with a few pats here and there. Thank you Necoma

It was so nice! I didn’t speak Japanese, the friendly staff very patiently helped me check in with google translate. This seems like a nice place for cats, there is enough space, it’s very clean, and there are rules in place to respect the cat’s autonomy (eg. no touching them when they’re sleeping). The small number of cats mean the staff can meet the needs of each cat adequately. A very chill place. (Also the coffee is good)

it was my second time visiting necoma today! this is my favorite cat cafe :) it's clean and pretty, and all the kitties seem so well-loved and cared for! whether you want to play with a feisty kitten or gently pet a sleepy cat, it's very comfortable!! i would love to adopt a kitty from necoma in the future :)
