Never enjoyable to write a negative review but unfortunately this is justifiable and necessary. After a couple of days stay in Cirie, we decided to give Osteria Social a try due to its excellent online ratings. Upon arriving we were impressed by the location and courtyard setting, and whilst the service was a little mixed at first (we weren’t directed towards a menu for 30 mins) we were relaxed and excited about the food. Ordering antipasti to start - it was fine, but not noticeably any different despite listing it as being from Mangalitza pigs. The main was unfortunately the disaster. My wife ordered gnocchi which was delicious, albeit standard. I ordered the steak which arrived literally welded onto a sizzling platter, and was so horrendously overcooked it was entirely inedible. We paid up regardless and left, including a massive amount for the meat. I was asked by 2 staff members if everything was ok, clearly noticing that I hadn’t touched the meat - to both staff members I said all was fine apart from the meat being overcooked and inedible. Neither of the staff did anything at all, or seemed even remotely concerned. To make matters worse, I was sick for the entirety of the next day, which I am assuming was linked to this meal, though obviously not confirmed. It was sad that we had such a poor experience at such a well rated restaurant - I hope for other people’s sake we caught it on a bad day.
