Firstly, Patch is fantastic little gem in Colchester. My gf and I took a punt on the taster and wine evening on a Saturday night. The menu contains 6 different plates, plus breads, a mixed board and some a couple of desserts. They recommend 2-3 dishes per person, so as there was two of us, we just took all six of the main plates. The menu is entirely vegetarian, with most being vegan friendly. The chef/owners really know how to mix flavours; each plate was perfectly balanced for flavours and was absolutely delicious. I cannot fault anything that came out, including the desserts. Service is good - things came out fairly quickly (although it was relatively quiet in their the evening we went in), and our waiting staff was friendly and attentive. Wine list is limited but decent; we had a Riesling which was very good and went well with the food (not at all sweet for a Riesling). As usual, it's more economical to buy a bottle. Ours cost £25. Overall the bill came to £93 (Inc alcohol) for the two of us, so it's not cheap, but you're getting very good quality. My only criticism is that the vibe/atmosphere for the evening opening could be improved - it would be good to do a bit more done with the lighting and interior to make it feel more cozy. Overall Patch is A1 - absolutely worth visiting. Vegetarian options: The plates change on a monthly basis, but when we were there only one dish wasn't vegan. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Menu is all vegetarian
