My favourite café in Colchester - menu is reliably delicious, fresh, seasonal and fairly priced. Stylish decor, relaxed atmosphere, staff are lovely, service great. Recommend the banana bread french toast, hash browns, rarebit and miso mushrooms, and the specials are worth checking out too. It's well worth supporting this independent café. They are also involved in community events and can be hired as a venue. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My husband and I had dinner at Patch on Saturday - what a wonderful experience it was. Being vegan we are quite used to rolling eyes and sub-standard sweet potato curry when we go out!! But our evening at Patch was a delight. Wonderful food, full of texture and flavour - and the most fantastic vegan pudding I have ever had. Thanks to the truly fabulous waiting staff and the amazing chefs. We felt so welcome. We will be back again soon! Meal type: Dinner Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
