Their menu listed on the website was extensive and offered lots of choices. However when we got our menu there was only one steak choice listed. We went there because we saw items on their online menu that were no longer available. Menus had been changed over two months earlier. Very disappointing!!
For sure the place to go after a day of Katahdin. Nice portions, and everything comes out from the kitchen served up perfectly. The burgers are filling and most items off the menu are pretty good, especially if you're hungry.
I mean, it's Millinocket and it automatically gets one star for simply existing. The other three are deserving, at least for my experience. Granted, I had just come out of Baxter and freezing my butt off for three days and sustaining myself on malodextrin and butter, but I enjoyed my meal here. I don't even like cole slaw. but the home made version was great. I got the haddock sandwich (big piece, fresh) with the divine home made onion rings. Also started with the NE clam chowder, which was good and chunky. The decor is very nice, almost out of place with all the other abandoned store fronts on Main Street. It's nice to see them at least trying to inject some life in this town. Millinocket desperately needs it. Place was dead on a Saturday afternoon in January other than what looked like to be a few locals at the bar and Eldon Pelletier (who gave a warm "hello" to us, love that accent). Service was fine and pleasant. We must have looked (or was it smelled) a bit out of place, as she asked "so are you guys crazy winter hikers?" and she seemed fascinated by what crampons and ice axes are. I'd come back.
