Right after seeing Riga Town Hall Square, come here for a meal. That's a nice idea to order tasty sandwiches. Most guests recommend trying good ice cream, biscuits and cheesecakes. Some clients recommend delicious wine at this cafe. This place is famous for great cappuccino, herbal tea or fruit tea.

pienene is well known for its great service and friendly staff, that is always ready to help you. Reasonable prices are to be expected at this place. When inside, the atmosphere is nice. Based on the guests' feedback on Google, this spot deserved 4.7.

This was the coolest store we shopped at in Riga - I think we ended up going there three times. They had locally hand-made crafts that we didn't see at any other stores, and conversely, we didn't see the same drop-shipped fridge magnets and coffee mugs that were in most souvenir shops. They had wool mittens that were purportedly made by Latvian grandmothers, and they were beautiful. They had locally made ceramic cookware and tableware. This felt like an authentically local business, unlike the glitzy gift store directly next door to it which practically blared "authentic Latvian gifts" but sold obvious commercially-sourced products. pienene even had wine tastings and a small coffee bar, where we enjoyed cappuccinos on one visit. Finally, we loved the staff...I'll share an anecdote. First of all, "thank you" in Latvian is "paldies," which is pronounced like "Paul Diaz." Since there's probably something wrong with me, when the lady handed me my cappuccino, I said "you know...I remember 'paldies' because it sounds like a Mexican man's name... Paul Diaz." Yes, my wife and daughter were laughing at me, and it only got worse when the lady's reply was a very dry, "Oh...thank you...now I know something I didn't know before."

Probably the best gift shop in downtown Riga. Sanita and her staff are amazing, very knowledgeable, friendly and kind. All the things is her store are absolutely unique, not like other stores sell the same thing. I only can recommend this place not only for visiting but to buy something that reminds you of your trip to Latvia, to Riga.
