I’ll be honest, if I had gone purely off some of the reviews online, I probably wouldn’t have come in. But I’m glad I trusted my gut and tried it for myself because my experience was actually really good. The mutton was proper nice, tender, well seasoned and full of flavour, the kind you expect from good Caribbean cooking. The jerk chicken was also on point, good portion and packed with that proper jerk flavour. The rice and peas wasn’t quite how I personally make mine, but that’s more about different cooking styles and preference rather than it being bad. The fried chicken was decent, although it felt like it might have been reheated a little too much. Still tasty, but fresh out the fryer would take it to another level. One thing I’d love to see is proper homemade Caribbean cake instead of packet cake - something like a good rum cake or Jamaican ginger cake would really top the meal off. Service was friendly and welcoming, and overall I left satisfied. It definitely beat the dry burger and chips I had from the hotel over the road, that’s for sure. Always good to support a local Caribbean spot bringing the culture and flavours, and I’ll definitely be coming back again. Respect and thanks Price per person: £20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
