I really wanted to enjoy this place after it was personally recommended by two different people, but the experience was way off expectations! I made a reservation on Tabelog for 9:30 (which was an available option, with no additional disclaimers), and their stated hours are until 11:00. When we arrived, we were told it’s already last call for food. Sure, we’re the last time slot, it makes sense. But the staff seemed disinterested and completely skipped any sake pairings, instead saying some sakes are unavailable, and others are available but not on the menu. Nothing more specific than that, no specific brand names or even pointing to which ones are unavailable. All the reviews made it seem like we’d receive some recommendations (which I had to ask twice for), some pairings, anything personalized. Nothing, and the staff seemed clearly eager for us to finish our meal. A last call for drinks was given at 10, after only two glasses of sake. Again, I understand we were a late slot but why have it available on Tabelog? Why not say anything on the website about late reservations? It’s sad because the food was excellent and the sake we ordered was good, but we got little to none of the experience that others clearly cherish and remember fondly. The staff cleaning up around us an hour and half before close didn’t make the atmosphere very welcoming either. A poor experience overall, especially for the 10,000 yen price tag. Edit: there was no option for a course menu, and the golden week all you can drink deal was nonexistent. Which means, we literally did not get the advertised service. Also, not even making this up, there was actually a bone in my sashimi. I was so sad to not get sake pairings that I completely forgot about that.
