Not only should Kyojima Minami Park be visited, but also satellite kitchen. It's a must while visiting this cafe to drink great tea. A number of reviewers highlight that the staff is hospitable here. The kitchen of the stars! I had been meaning to write a review following my visit from a few months ago since it was so overwhelmingly positive, so I'll do that now. Satellite Kitchen! Nestled away in the charming backstreets of the area a little to the north of Skytree, this combination cafe + gallery has something for everyone. My visit was inspired by the current exhibition of a Taiwanese artist, Tai Yi Fei, whose work was in the downstairs little sitting area and the upstairs rental space. As many other reviews have pointed out, the kindness of the talented artist-violinist-owner is a fact and we talked for length about art, the area of town, plant-based food options, and his adorable baby. His wife is also a talented designer and has goods for sale in the downstairs shop! Truly a couple of undeniable power. It's pretty neat that this building houses another shop to the left and I was treated to a brief history of its renovations before carefully ascending the narrow staircase to floor #2. And what a nice surprise! This floor was super charming with many an antique-looking cupboard and table. Also the artworks looked great in this warm and wooden setting, so I took my time and many photographs. Forgot to mention that the owner speaks English and extended the invitation to visit anytime to practice Japanese. We followed each other on Instagram and I bought 2 muffins and it was a great day. We are all lucky that this satellite kitchen orbits so close to home.
