Small, very cozy place with a really relaxed vibe. Only one person running the kitchen and one server. Server is very attentive and works hard. Past reviews show the bread as a must have, that was definitely spot on as there was an excellent but small selection of breads. The bread comes with olive oil oil and a pinch of salt, we also asked for black pepper. We got the beef stew and the roast pork, not realizing they came with no sides. We ended up later ordering a dish of pasta. I think one heavy meat dish and one pasta dish~both to share~ would have been plenty for us looking back on the experience. Everything was fresh and wonderfully flavorful. We finished with the apple tart which came out warm and not too sweet. We will definitely be back, this place is a hidden gem! We tried a new spot tonight, and it turns out we stumbled onto a true hidden Italian gem. We started with the sautéed shrimp in garlic sauce—perfectly cooked, rich, and packed with flavor. For mains, the shrimp in tomato cream sauce was absolutely outstanding—creamy, balanced, and comforting without being heavy. The potato-crusted white fish was crisp on the outside, tender and flaky inside—done beautifully. And our daughter’s pepperoni pizza? Fresh, classic, and devoured without a single leftover slice. Everything tasted homemade and intentional. This is one of those places you don’t want to leave once you sit down. And whatever you do—don’t skip the homemade bread. It’s worth the visit all by itself. New favorite. We’ll definitely be back. Meal type: Dinner

Overall, Cucina Upuraya was great. The food was fantastic, we ordered the set menu, and I upgraded to the lamb chops. This may be an American perspective, but the portions felt too small for the price. This was among the more expensive meals we've had all month, and while the portions felt small, the taste was exceptional. The meal also felt more French than Italian.
