Kameya is a Japanese ramen restaurant located on Bingomachi Street in Kobe, just a minute's walk from Rokkomichi Station. Known for its laid-back and unpretentious atmosphere, this eatery specializes in traditional ramen dishes with a unique twist. The menu offers options for brunch, lunch, and dinner, though it’s wise to note that the establishment does not, reportedly, accept credit cards.
The standout dish appears to be their sudachi ramen, featuring a refreshing, citrusy flavor that's favored by fans of more delicate tastes. Reviews, however, suggest mixed experiences, with some diners enjoying the zesty notes, while others found the taste overwhelmingly dominated by sudachi. An additional highlight—whether for better or worse—was the highly salty rice balls and an abundance of ashtrays, possibly affecting overall impressions of the dining experience.
Some diners have pointed out service issues and variable food quality, but the crowd who appreciates simple and light ramen consistently supports Kameya. Given that the last available customer feedback is from nearly a decade ago, there isn’t much current information directly from the owner or recent patrons regarding any changes in the offerings or environment. Therefore, prospective visitors may need to experience this quirky ramen spot firsthand to form their conclusions.
