I was in Kamakura for just two days in March and stopped by on the first night. I’d been wanting takoyaki and this bar was one of the few places open late in the area. This has ended up being one of my favourite memories of my trip. I’d never been to a standing bar before, especially one where mostly locals are customers, so it took some courage to walk in alone (especially as a woman). But everyone was so friendly and made me feel comfortable, asking me questions and making conversation with me. The beer and takoyaki were delicious and exactly what I needed. I took this photo at the owner(?)’s request as it’s apparently their official tshirt. Keep in mind that this bar is smoker-friendly, so if you can’t tolerate smoke, it won’t be for you. I’m not a smoker but it was worth staying for the fun vibe :) If I ever return to Kamakura, I’ll definitely come back here again! Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
