Nestled in the heart of Omuta, on Nishihamada Street, "だるま" is a traditional Japanese restaurant with a rich history. Known for its distinctive style of okonomiyaki, this establishment offers diners the nostalgic flavors of an era gone by. With over 70 years under its belt, presumably originating as a manju (sweet bun) shop, "だるま" holds the status of a veteran eatery in the local culinary scene.

Visitors can enjoy a variety of menu options throughout the day, featuring breakfast, brunch, and lunch items. However, more recent insights or owner updates are scarce, leaving some details about current offerings and ambiance up to the diner's discovery. Longtime patrons speak of thin-crust pancakes brimming with bean sprouts and cabbage, complemented by a sweet sauce—a combination that has become somewhat rare in the traditional streets of Omuta. The restaurant's popularity may result in wait times, yet this often signifies its revered standing among locals.

Despite its venerable reputation, information about "だるま" is not extensively available on mainstream restaurant platforms, and it maintains only a minimal presence on Foursquare. Thus, for those looking to find this hidden gem, keeping an eye out while exploring Nishihamada could be key. The scarcity of recent reviews means potential visitors might need to approach with a spirit of exploration and an open mind.
