This restaurant and Gojo Ohashi Bridge can be both really attractive for tourists. At this place you can find the Japanese cuisine. Make a change from your habitual meal and try good misir, beef and tempura at 枝魯枝魯. If hungry, come here for tasty creamy cakes and good ice cream.

The creative staff works hard, stays positive and makes this place wonderful. Cool service is something clients agree upon here. When you enter this place, pay your attention to the pretty atmosphere. Both food and service made favorable impressions on Facebook users, and this place got the 4.4 star rating there.

This would be the reason for me to return to Tokyo. The seasonal menu I had (January 2017) featured seafood, lamb, and other local ingredients prepared in a creative manner. Everything was exquisitely delicious, and service and interaction at the counter was impeccable.
Sitting at the counter and watch the chefs prepare your meal right in front of you is quite a treat, both visually and culinarily. If you are a fan of the Iron Chef TV show, the puts you righ in the center of a miniature kitchen area, and you would feel like a judge savoring every creation of these chefs. Counter seating space is limited, but it is a must. There is a dining area upstairs, but why would you?
Staff's English is very limited, so it is best to come with a Japanese speaking friend. However, even if you do not speak a word of Japanese, the staff will do their best to accommodate you, with a smile too.
Definitely want to come back, and definitely recommend.

My boyfriend and I visited this restaurant a year ago when we were in Kyoto and we were blown away with the quality of food. Giro Giro is one of the reasons why we are back in Kyoto this year. We just ended a scrumptious meal there with an impeccable service. I can't wait to come back! Thank you so much for the wonderful dinner, Goemmon and Guwashi.

Was excited about this. Reality was so, so disappointing. Yes, I get it, it's summer. But the food did not have to repeat the whole refreshing/acid/light thing for 6 courses. I did not get the idea behind poorly fried chicken with thickened mushroom consomme. If you're going to do two bites of fried chicken, at least make it better than KFC. Nor did I get the grilled rice haphazardly served in a broth. I guess it works as a last course before dessert-- that is, if I was anywhere near fullness from eating. Dessert was okay (diced watermelon, jelly/aspic of some sort, citrus, mint; could have used some elderflower syrup, but that's just me), but could not redeem the meal. And service? We were made to wait 20-30 minutes after the second or third course for the next one to arrive. And oh, the head chef and the drunk fry cook got into an argument which made the bad night even more awkward. The climax was when the guy in charge grabbed the fish the fry cook was about to fillet and the fry cook stol it back and slammed it onto his chopping board with an "I-can-do-this-so-fuck-off attitude". Great. Omakase can be a good thing in the hands of capable chefs. In this case, it was more than an hour of torture, which left us feeling unsatisfied, and worst of all-- hungry. Should have gone to the Korean-Japanese BBQ nearby instead; had a meal there the previous night at half the price of this one and definitely 5x more delicious. I guess this is great if you just want pretty looking plates to brag about on Instagram. But if you're really serious about food, you might need to look elsewhere. PS. Shoutout to the annoying Italian seated to my left whose feet kept bumping into my knee. You could've sat like a normal person in a cramped dining area, but you didn't. So I jumped at the chance to trample all over your bag laying on the floor when opportunity struck. And you could have not made yourself look like a stupid ass when you made small talk to me and I said "we're", and then you corrected me, "it's 'we are'. :)
