A small but very cozy place, run by a lovely lady. We have never been treated with so much care and kindness. The food is excellent: grilled fish, fried oysters, sashimi, noodles. Simple, tasty dishes at very reasonable prices. Compared to the prices at Kyoto’s markets, it’s much, much better. A true Japanese essence, with pleasant music. We spent a great night with 10€ for person. Then, come back again, because it’s the best choise in the area. Price per person: ¥1,000–2,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This is an izakaya we entered after 8 p.m. The staff was very friendly and patiently explained the menu to us. The barley tea was excellent, and the cold soba was a delightful surprise—I couldn’t believe how fresh it tasted, with perfectly chewy noodle Highly recommend!!! Very nice Izakaya. Very good sobas and the karaage is especially good. It does take its sweet time but a worthy experience especially in view of the millions of restaurants in the area who are trying to set you back 10k yens+ per person for an average Kobe beef menu Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥2,000–3,000 Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
