I have very mixed feelings. We had an oddly very good experience, but not because of the food. On first impression, I saw the "food grade rating" sign that said "C, food needs significant improvement," and almost turned around and left. But they were fast to get us seated so we stayed...second thing I noticed was there were a lot of flies. Menu was filthy. The waitress was nice enough. Didn't offer drink refills, but I didn't ask either. The chips and salsa might be great for someone else, but I didn't like them. Just deep fried mini street taco tortillas with chunky, sweet and slightly spicy salsa. The chips broke too easily and were too big. Chips and salsa were also not bottomless (you have to pay for more), and you only get a teeny tiny bowl of salsa. I got the choose four combo with a burrito, quesadilla, beans, and rice. Food quality was "Mexican night at the buffet" or "school cafeteria attempts Mexican." The vegetables in the rice looked like just frozen mixed veggies. The sauce on my burrito tasted like straight unseasoned tomato sauce. Very bland. Not tasty. Very basic. We're from the southwestern US and we know what authentic Mexican is supposed to taste like and it's...not this. That being said, we went on a random Thursday night and there was this super nice employee who offered to make balloon animals for my kids, and she made them some actually pretty amazing animals. The kids were ecstatic, just absolutely on cloud nine the whole time. So to summarize....I wouldn't eat their food again if they paid me, but I'd go back for the balloon lady? Absolutely phenomenal I am abot adventurous when it comes to food. This place doesn't disappoint very authentic. Just the right amount of spice. I often let my server or bartender pick what I am to be served I have yet to be dissatisfied here. Hiram was a great pour. I will co tinder to come back again and again! Incredible how 7 Mares Mexican restaurant has delivered on so many levels. The restaurant is far above average, with authentic Mexican dishes, fresh ingredients and vibrant environment. The staff was very friendly, super clean restaurant, 5 stars for hospitality. I am grateful to have been able to enjoy a lunch with my friends and family in 7 Mares Mexican restaurant. Treat your self and others and dine in!
