We had an excellent meal here, everything was delicious. We had the beef liver, cheese saganaki, rooster and orange cake - it’s too hard to pick a favourite! Nice setting, very reasonable prices and attentive staff. Highly recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Asikiko – a very pleasant and modern restaurant in Rethymno. You can really feel that this is not just traditional Greek cuisine, but rather Cretan cuisine reimagined in a contemporary way — creative and aiming to surprise you. Atmosphere & service – the service is top-notch, and the atmosphere is wonderful (though keep in mind that people might smoke at nearby tables — but what do you expect from a southern country? Everyone smokes here and it’s generally accepted). About the food – we ordered the black risotto with shrimp, and it truly has a wow effect. We also had the moussaka, which was quite unusual (might not be to everyone’s taste), and the fish, which was nicely done and flavorful.
