UPDATE: Their customer service team reached out to me quickly after my original review. They apologized for the billing issue, said they would adjust the bill, and let me know they would speak with my server about what happened. I’ve adjusted my rating based on how quickly and professionally they responded. Honestly, the food here is amazing, and I would definitely come back for the food. I especially loved the chorizo stuffed dates and the shawarma spiced chicken. ORIGINAL EXPERIENCE:. When my bill initially came, the subtotal was around $156. After I paid, the total before tip was $186.62, and after tip, it came to $215.60. I noticed that the initial bill didn’t show the state and local taxes, which was completely fine. However, the final amount still seemed higher than I expected, and I couldn’t figure out why. I asked our waitress about it, and she responded, “I’ll just print out your bill.” I did sense a little annoyance from her. After she printed the itemized receipt, I looked it over but still couldn’t figure out what was different, and she didn’t really offer any help explaining it. Since I’m not a confrontational person and didn’t want to make an issue out of it, I eventually just said I had figured it out and left. When I got back to my hotel, I looked at the receipt again and finally noticed a $24 heirloom tomatoes dish that I never ordered. What confused me even more was that this item did not appear to be on the initial bill I was shown before handing over my credit card. I’m still not sure how or why it was added afterward. I understand that I should have caught it and pointed it out while I was still at the restaurant, so I take some responsibility for that. However, I also wish the waitress had been a little more helpful when I clearly had questions about why the total had changed. Overall, I’m very happy with how their customer service team handled the situation afterward. The billing experience was frustrating, but the food was excellent, and their quick response definitely changed my overall impression of the restaurant for the better. I recently visited avec Restaurant and had an excellent dining experience with a great mix of creative food and a relaxed atmosphere. The restaurant has a stylish, intimate setting that feels both modern and welcoming. The menu focuses on Mediterranean-inspired dishes with plenty of interesting flavors and combinations. I ordered several plates to share, and each one had its own distinct character. The dishes were beautifully presented and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. I particularly enjoyed the balance of herbs, spices, vegetables, and rich savory flavors throughout the meal.
