Fantastic all around dining experience. Menu is diverse, but feels tight, and is executed well. Omakase/sets offer plenty of food and their appetizers are delicious as well. BYOB which is always a plus. Service is excellent and the staff take an all hands on deck approach. Everyone played their role well and service felt seamless. We celebrated a birthday and they offered a celebratory dessert which was a tasty and generous way to end our meal. Butterfish is worth a visit, then many more. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Came here with a couple friends who have never had real sushi before, and we were all blown away by the food here. We got the premium omakase and loved every bite. Their gelato was equally amazing. The service was top tier as well. Jojo was an amazing person who really brought this experience to the next level. 10/10 recommend and would come again Price per person: $100+ Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Tried this place for first time, we're big sushi ppl and value freshness, flavor, and cut size above all else, Butterfish did a good job in all those aspects. I generally like a calmer more serene atmosphere so that's just me, but generally the hardest one to please is my wife, and if she likes it, it's a big win... props to the yellowtail and tuna varieties, the scallop very fresh, my wife not over the moon re the uni, I think the waygu needed to be seared more, the unagi very good...both hand rolls good, we like the crab one a little more... topped of the night w a scoop of black sesame and biscotti, really like the biscotti, tasted like those cookies on the plane. All in all, we have good options for Japanese in our neck of Bergen County but we'll be back to this this place and try the hand roll place as well... Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
