My visit to Bahama Breeze near the Smith Haven Mall left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant's atmosphere is pleasant, and I appreciated the option for outdoor seating even during cooler weather. It seems like a great place to hang out with friends and enjoy some drinks. However, the food was a letdown. I ordered the half Jamaican jerk chicken, and while the chicken was tender, it lacked flavor. The rice and beans seemed like they were simply microwaved, which was disappointing. The saving grace was the sweet plantains, which I genuinely enjoyed. The drink selection was diverse, but not outstanding enough to make up for the food. Perhaps my expectations were too high, or it was an off day as I went right when they opened. Despite the mediocre food, I must commend the excellent service from my waitress. She made me feel welcome and accommodated, which was a redeeming aspect of the visit. While I may not return for the food, the fantastic service may be a reason to revisit Bahama Breeze with friends for drinks.
