The menu of French cuisine under the direction of the great chef is wonderful at this place. It's worth visiting Barberaenea to try perfectly cooked burgers, salads and filet américain. Nothing can be better than eating good parfait, tarte tatin and profiteroles. This place offers you great coffee.

We stayed for one night at Hotel Barberaenea as we were passing through Bidarray on our way along the GR10. The room was clean, comfortable, and spacious, and overall we enjoyed our dinner, although it was a bit more expensive than we had initially anticipated. The only let down for us was the service; as mentioned in a few other reviews, we didn’t find the host to be particularly welcoming or accommodating, and the restaurant was quite understaffed for what was a fairly busy evening.

A very welcoming hotel and restaurant. The food is very good basque fare, and frites. The rooms are really cozy, low slung comfortable beds and pillows. Owners work very hard and are quite helpful! Service: 4

Lovely old inn with a good meal. Rooms were basic, but clean and comfortable. Our bikes were stored in absolute safety in the wine cellar! Service: 5
