We popped in for lunch with a kid and it was great. Food was lovely and reasonably priced. Price per person: €10–20 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

So we made a reservation here at 6pm. When we made the reservation days prior, we were told we could have any time we liked, but we settled on 6pm. We arrived at the Beachcomber at 3pm to watch the game from the bar. At around 5.15 we asked the which table was ours since every table in the restaurant area was full. We were pointed to a small table at the bar for four people (we were a party of 5) and instead of chairs the table had bar stools. We were disappointed by this because we booked ahead, and several customers had walked in and been seated at the dining area without a reservation. About 5.50 a lot of people in the dining area began to leave and it essentially emptied out, so we requested to be moved over to a bigger table. We were told to wait and see. We sat at our table for 35 minutes and no members of staff came over. Other people who were seated after us were served in that time. I made eye contact with the waitstaff several times- I was ignored. We were confused as to whether the staff knew we were there for food since we were at the bar, but we remembered that they were the ones who sat us there. Eventually, after being ignored for over half an hour, we left. We're confused whether it was a misunderstanding or they simply didn't want to serve us and wanted us to leave. We're heartily disappointed- we're not local, but consider the Beachcomber to be one of the highlights of a visit to Rathmullan. Now, we know we will never return. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Very friendly and efficient staff, fabulous food with amazing views of Inch Island, delicious pub grub and the Guinness was amazing. Can't wait to return to the Beachcomber bar. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
