First time at Beckon. I have wanted to come here for awhile and my husband and I decided to come here for our anniversary. Upon arrival we checked in at the hostess table (we were 15 minutes early). We were told to go next door to Major Tom for a drink. I was a bit confused at first as to why but I know high-end restaurants are very coordinated and I get there is timing to everything. We were then taken back and seated and provided cold lemon towels to wipe our hands. The dining room was very minimalistic and had a hygge element to it. You could tell that they want the focus mostly on the food. We didn't know what to expect food wise because they didn't have their fall menu on their website and that's probably because they change it frequently based on what is in season. I thought we would have a look at the menu before hand at our table but it was really just one surprise after another. All the food runners, hosts, front-of-house leader etc. Were extremely friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. Standouts: The duck, the seabass and the custard. Overall Take away: Beckon delivers a strong texture and flavor combo in all it's dishes. Focusing on savory with a hint of sweet. The desserts had a flavor combo of sweet and sour. Each dish had an array of color and and presentation was simple yet powerful! I highly recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Order type: Dine in

Unfortunately, we left very disappointed with the service. My friend had an important business call and was speaking in a normal conversational tone, not loudly or in a way that was disturbing anyone. The manager suddenly came up, interrupted him, and rudely told him to “take your call outside” without even saying excuse me or asking politely. We completely understand if phone calls are not allowed, but there is a respectful way to communicate that, especially at a Michelin-starred restaurant where we spent nearly $2,000 on dinner. Our server was incredibly sweet and the food was great, but the manager’s attitude completely ruined the mood of our evening and left us with a very unpleasant impression. Food tasted phenomenal. Expect to leave hungry 2.5 hours after you sit down. Honestly confused why a tasting menu is so slow. Disappointed I had to make myself a snack after an $800 dinner and we added on the wagyu, still not enough food. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Meal type: Dinner
