It takes a special kind of audacity to name your restaurant after a beloved dish, only to spectacularly fail at making it. Briyani65 is arguably one of the most perplexing culinary experiences in Riyadh, a place where expectations go to die, only to be resurrected by a single, inexplicable masterpiece. When an establishment proudly slaps "briyani" across its sign, you expect fragrant basmati, perfectly marinated meat, and a rich symphony of spices. Instead, Briyani65 serves what is undoubtedly the absolute lowest standard of biryani in the entire city. It lacks aroma, authenticity, and basic flavor. It’s a baffling disappointment that makes you question how they confidently built their brand around a dish they completely misunderstand. Against my better judgment, I decided to give them a second chance. I ordered the Nihari, a dish that, when done right, is a rich, slow-cooked, deeply flavorful comfort food. What arrived was nothing short of a culinary insult. It lacked the gelatinous depth, the rich bone-marrow essence, and the melt-in-your-mouth texture that defines a true Nihari. It felt less like a carefully crafted traditional stew and more like a rushed, watery afterthought. Perhaps the most infuriating aspect of Briyani65 is the sheer delusion of their pricing strategy. The Bill:You are charged at the tier of a high-end, fine-dining establishment. The Reality:The actual food quality, atmosphere, and customer service barely scrape the standards of a neighborhood boofia. Paying premium, wallet-emptying prices for indifferent service and deeply flawed execution is an incredibly tough pill to swallow. And yet, here lies the great paradox of Briyani65. Despite the abysmal biryani, the offensive Nihari, and the daylight robbery of their menu prices, they somehow manage to execute the undisputed best chicken tawa piece in all of Riyadh. It is an absolute standout, perfectly spiced, sizzling, flawlessly tender, and carrying the perfect amount of char and smoke. It makes absolutely zero sense that a kitchen so capable of butchering the basics can deliver such a masterful Tawa piece. But they do. And as frustrating as the rest of the experience is, that single, brilliant dish is the one, and only reason I will inevitably find myself walking back through their doors. Extremely Spicy Food - even after repeated requests while ordering the dishes, but food is tasty it opens the taste buds!! Not recommended if going with lil kids. Service is very very slow the guy taking the order is totally waste, need to teach him little bit customer service. From where is he bringing all the arrogance- I wonder if he is the owner of the restaurant! May not re-visit, one time exp is enough to put a CROSS MARK to this place! I had the worst experience! I ordered some items for takeaway and was told to wait for 20 minutes. However, after multiple follow up food was handed to me after 45 minutes. When i got home, it was the most disappointed food ever! Paratha soaked in oil and not cooked completely and dry qeema! When informed them they did offer to compensate but after what? Who would want to go to a place that doesn't respect time and then gives you inedible food! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: SAR 20–40 Food: 1 Service: 1
