We had a great experience here for Sunday buffet. Our server Doug was tremendous. Knowledgeable, friendly, and he took wonderful care of us. This place is definitely worth the money IF you are going to eat a ton of crab legs and seafood which my girlfriend did plenty. She really enjoyed the salmon, fried scallops, and crab legs. However, I have to take off a star because there was just too much food that I unfortunately did find underwhelming. The steak option was more like prime rib which could be good but simply wasn't. The mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, and rice pilaf were all just not good at all. It was my girlfriend's birthday and the restaurant plus Doug made it a great experience that's why I'm giving them 4 out of 5 stars. If it was just me I don't know that I'd find enough variety there to warrant the final cost. Would love to see more attention to those dishes I named but I still enjoyed my steamed shrimp, crab legs, and desserts. Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

Hi Jason, thank you for your review. We are thrilled to hear that you received such greats service from Doug but are sorry to hear that some of the buffet items were less than you expected. Please let a manager know if something is not up to your standards so that they may address it properly in the future.

Delicious food! The oysters Rockefeller were great. The place was so cool looking: cool ship decor built into the buffet, paintings, and well thought out wallpaper and decorations like the pumpkins in the salad bar ice. Shout out to our great server, Ms. Luda! She was on top of things with the sweetest smile! I forgot a fork and she had me covered. Their speciality is in seafood and the delicious noodles. 100% get the she-crab soup! However, their desserts like the cake was just average because the icing was good but the cake was dry. The chocolate chip cookie was DELICIOUS and my mother loved the baklava. Absolutely plan to come here again!!! Ok...... been a while since I've reviewed a new restaurant, but today is the day! Captain George's Seafood....let's go! Let's start with the easy stuff first 1- bathroom: very clean and kept. 2- service: Hostess was very polite and escorted me to the table in a professional manner. My waiter was very polite and knowledgeable of the foods and drink specials. 3- price: bring your wallet. I was by myself and it was $76.02. I did tip the difference to total $100. So, better than a 30% tip, but that's just me. 4- atmosphere: The dining area is clean and the room has a nice colonial feel to it with all of the colonial decorations. The buffet is designed to look like a colonial ship and I kinda liked it. 5- food: here comes the part you're looking for. They give you a menu in case you want something special besides the buffet. I can get behind that. I added pictures of what I got. Alaskan crab legs, fried oysters, popcorn shrimp, sausage, bread, fried Pollock, blackened mahi mahi, oysters Rockefeller, fried scallops, rice, crawfish and dessert which was chocolate cake and strawberry shortcake. The crab legs were good. They were fresh out of the cook and good. Crawfish were seasoned nicely and delicious. Oysters Rockefeller were, meh.... ok. I've had better. Fried oysters and popcorn shrimp were ok. The sausage was actually pretty good. Bread was good. Rice was actually pretty good and not sticky and nasty. The fish- Pollock: don't do it. Stale tasting. Blackened mahi mahi was more like burnt mahi-mahi and bland. The chocolate cake was very dry... don't do it. The strawberry shortcake was good moist and tasty even if they did use that strawberry glaze stuff. The buffet needs more attention than what it's getting, but I guess it'll pass what with the crowd that was there. I still think you can do better there. No I just can't do it. This is a buffet and not a 5 star restaurant. Best I can do since Google won't give me Half a star otherwise it'd be 3 1/2 stars. Overall you get 4 stars. So, what's with the A.E.D. cabinet? No A.E.D. in it! That can be an issue if there's an emergency in the dinning room especially for someone trained to use one as I am a CPR/A.E.D. instructor. I'd fix that quickly. There ya go. Captain George's Seafood restaurant in Williamsburg, VA. If you're a tourist, you'll be ok here. Just, like I said, bring your wallet. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Seafood Buffet, Fried Oysters, Some of the Desserts, Fried Shrimp
