The experience at this location is normally great but this time around it was so disappointing. My friend ordered a bowl with quinoa and the quinoa was clearly not cooked. I tried some of it and it’s as if they put a batch of cooked quinoa and mixed it with completely uncooked batch of quinoa. When my friend brought her bowl up to the counter and politely spoke to the girls at the front of the line about it they told her “well it’s supposed to be grainy” and she ended up having to go back through the line and pay for another bowl because the first one was not edible. Great food! Had a smoothie and that was good too! Staff was friendly, most had smiles. Great place for catch-up get togethers. I am extremely disappointed with how CoreLife Eatery handled my daughter’s injury and the events that followed. I have contemplated heavily posting this review but I do think that customers should know the culture of this business and how little they care about their patrons. On June 2nd, my 5-year-old daughter slipped from one of the high-top benches and hit the back of her head, resulting in a laceration that ultimately required staples. I understand that accidents can happen anywhere, and my issue is not simply that the accident occurred, it’s how it was handled afterward. When I informed the staff that my daughter had cut her head and asked whether an incident report should be completed, the response I received from the manager Mike was, “I see that. What do you want me to do about it?” At a time when my child was bleeding, scared, and injured, I expected at least a basic level of concern, empathy, or assistance. Instead, I felt completely dismissed. Because of the lack of response at the restaurant, we later returned and requested the District Manager’s contact information. We spoke with him directly and were told that someone would be reaching out to us regarding the incident. Despite that assurance, we were never contacted. No one followed up, checked on my daughter, asked how she was doing, or provided any update regarding the incident. What is most disappointing is not that an accident happened, but the complete lack of compassion, accountability, and communication afterward. A simple check-in to see how a young child was doing after suffering an injury serious enough to require staples would have gone a long way. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and improves how injuries involving customers, especially children, are handled in the future. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
