If I could give El Cuscatleco 10 stars, I absolutely would! I ordered the Guadalajara along with three pork and cheese pupusas, and every single bite was amazing. Everything was perfectly seasoned—full of flavor without being overly salty. The pupusas were exactly what I was craving: fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. I’m originally from the DC area, where there are plenty of outstanding Salvadoran restaurants, so I’ve always had high standards when it comes to pupusas. After moving to Raleigh, I was hoping to find a place that could compare, and I’m happy to say I finally found my spot! The steak in the Guadalajara was tender, well-seasoned, and never tough. The sour cream tasted like it was made in-house, and both the guacamole and rice were incredibly fresh and delicious. You can tell they put care into every part of the meal. This place is truly top-tier and has officially become my favorite Salvadoran restaurant in North Carolina. I’ll definitely be back again and again!
