Food delivery is a big plus of this place. The knowledgeable staff demonstrates a high level of hospitality at this spot. The fine service is something these restaurateurs care about. You are to be pleasantly impressed with reasonable prices at this restaurant. The atmosphere is peaceful, as visitors see it. But google users haven't given Emperor's Kitchen a high rating.

If you're looking for a no frills, hot, fast, tasty and consistent "take out style" American Chinese Food experience, please give The Emperor's Kitchen in Elmhurst a try, you won't be disappointed. My wife and I have lived in Elmhurst, Illinois for at least 26 years and this restaurant has always been a stand out favorite of ours. First I'd like to speak about the folks who run this establishment. This is a family run business and I always enjoy supporting local small businesses in our community. Originally owned and ran by the parents who eventually retired around the time that the Covid-19 pandemic hit and was taken over by their children who continued to keep the restaurant open against tremendous odds of failing due to the complications that the Covid-19 pandemic caused most businesses with both the "stay at home" orders as well as the "no contact" precautions that everyone seemed to adopt. These folks overcame all odds and are still in business today. It's also worth mentioning that during the pandemic time, while all the other restaurants in the area were constantly raising their prices, and I saw one place that raised their prices seemed like once a month for 6 months straight, The Emperor's Kitchen's prices stayed unchanged the entire duration of the pandemic, and my wife and I tremendously appreciated that. My wife is usually the one who calls in our pickup order and she always tells me how wonderfully sweet the lady is who takes our order. Orders are prepared quickly usually 10-15 minutes and are always ready when I arrive to pick it up. I'm always greeted with a smile and pleasant conversation from the young lady who handles the front end of the restaurant. Food is always piping hot when I get home. They offer time honored American Chinese favorites of the Cantonese, Mandarin and Szechuan varieties and variations. Everything is prepared to order, can be tailored to your specific dietary needs (omit MSG etc...) I personally love their Emperor's Chicken dish, however I prefer plain chicken breast instead of breaded deep fried chicken chucks and they happily accommodates my request. I also LOVE their Kung Pao Beef. I order it every time, even if I don't eat it that night, it reheats fabulous the next day. My wife's favorite is their Szechwan Chicken Fried Rice and she asks for them to add pineapple to it. Actually she asks for "extra extra extra pineapple" and they load her dish up with so much pineapple, she smiles from ear to ear when she opens her container when I get home with our food. It is with tremendous pleasure that I recommend The Emperor's Kitchen for your next dinner selection. Picked up my order and walked into what sounded like a heated argument between the staff. There was a 5 year old child behind the counter. Came back to my office with my order and the smell of the shrimp kow was very strong of fish water, the sauce had a gelatin consistency, with no flavor besides the overwhelming fishy taste. I figured I already paid for it and was already halfway through my lunch break, but I couldn't take another bite. The portion was very small for the price I paid. I called to express the quality and she said I could get a refund if I brought it back to the restaurant. At this point I was pretty much done with my break, I asked if could bring it tomorrow and she said no it had to be today. I drove back to the restaurant to return the order. She made me wait until her waiting area was cleared, to what I assume was to avoid other customers hearing my complaint. Instead of an acknowledgement from the person at the counter, I was approached by the 5 year old who asked if I was picking up an order. I just said No. Im returning my order. The person gave me back my money, not an apology not even a thank you. Horrible experience with this place. I will never be returning here. I've been coming to this place consistently for years and their dishes don't disappoint. It's what you expect from your local Chinese cuisine and I love it. They know how to make extra spicy, ACTUALLY spicy which is refreshing! I've also graduated to trying the Yu Xiang dishes and they are fantastic! I love their sauces and am never afraid to try something new due to their consistency. I'm not a fan of the egg rolls (too peanutty for me), but all the appetizers are great too. Coco, the young lady who is typically at the front, is so nice. Since I've been coming so long it's nice to feel a familiar welcome when I come in.
