A pizzería and light meal joint within Plaza Geranios Colgantes or Seminario San Luis, Cuenca’s Dining Square next to the New Cathedral. It’s a surprisingly good pizzeria with a quasi-Italian flair. Short menu of pizza and pasta. The pizza is Roman-style (Sccrochiarella): rectangular with ovoid end, THIN CRUST , crispy crust… THOUGH IT NEEDS ABOUT 3 min more to have a solid crust center. We wanted the Berenjena (Aubergine), which would been quite Roman BUT NO AUBERGINES…. So substituted with onions and champiñones PLUS extra Aceituna and Prosciutto … TURNS OUT TO BE VERY GOOD ESPECIALLY WITH PEPPER FLAKES AND PARMIGIANA. ***** SUGGESTIONS: Add better topping choices like Anchoa, artichokes, Parma sausages… AND PECORINO… and may be Roman Meatballs as non-pizza Plato Fuerte. The wine list however is bottom of barrel selections. There’s a table starter of white bread and rough cuts of cheese (tastes like Gouda NOT Italian NOT EVEN provolone. Service is spotty. Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Some vegetarian options available Parking space: Difficult to find parking Parking options: Parking is unavailable Parking: No parking within the immediate vicinity Kid-friendliness: Children welcomed Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair available

Very good Italian restaurant located within close proximity to Parque Calderon. The meal we ordered was very good from the red wine to the appetizer of three different cheeses, bread, olives and meat. Our entree was a margarita pizza which was the best we've had during our travels in Ecuador. It was cooked in a pizza over so it had the perfect crispness. The sauce, cheese and fresh basil were also perfect. Our server was attentive and did a good job of helping us with the me as non native speakers. We'll definitely be back to Filippo Wine Cheese and Bread. Order type: Dine in Meal type: Lunch
