Food was lovely. Service was good, how ever automatically charging the customer %20 of the bill as a tip is a bit cheeky, it’s not America, its Edinburgh, a tip is something that is given for above and beyond service, not for just doing the job u are paid to. Certainly NOT something u just take. £300 me and me partner spent. Why should staff automatically be making %20 of that. It’s not a Michelin star restaurant.. VAT since when did the customer pay the vat on food, should that not be stated on the menu if that is the policy of fishers or included when making the prices.. no where on the menu did it state that we would be charged VAT and it had no mention of automatically taking a 20% tip… I know restaurants are struggling a lot I work in the industry, but I felt slightly fleeced. I would have been leaving a tip anyway, but to assume u are entitled to %20 is bonkers.. what if a customer had budgeted to spend £200 and they spent that, u come across with a bill for £240, 20% vat+ %20 tip, the customer only has the £200, the customer is now put in a very embarrassing situation.. just as well the waitress was very honest as I had went to leave a cash tip and she told me, we’ve already took our tip.. Very good dinner. I ordered quite a sampler of smaller plates and it was all very good. Really loved the prawns, big massive prawns! The scallops too were good. Gambas were very fresh. Very chill place. Enjoyed it. Would recommend! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £60–70
