Great Sunday roast. Generous portion. Also ordered a vegetarian option. The meat alternative was a very nice vegetable and quorn mince combo, delicately spiced. Full of flavour. The vegetarian gravy is the best I've had - hand made by the chef using water from the vegetables. Overall, highly recommended. Good price too! Vegetarian options: Highly recommend. Visited the Fox & Hounds 3 times now in the last few weeks for lunch. Tried something different each time and just cannot fault the food. Fish and chips, homemade steak & ale pie, sharing platter, homemade apple crumble all perfectly cooked and proper homemade chips to boot. Will be back soon to sample something else. The pubs landlord and lady seemingly just took over less that a year ago and the new chef just started a few weeks ago, all very friendly people. Also Wylam has some lovely walks and a great cycling track along the old wagonway which is just a stones throw from the pub.
