Had a great experience at The Gin Mill. The atmosphere is one of the first things that stands out — the interior is beautifully decorated with a classy, upscale feel that makes it a fun place to spend an evening. They also have a nice outdoor patio area that’s perfect for enjoying a drink on a nice day. The cocktails were excellent. We tried a couple of drinks and both were flavorful, well-made, and definitely worth ordering. We also shared the Bang Bang Shrimp appetizer, which was a standout and packed with great flavor. For my entrée, I ordered the New York Steak with sides. The sides were very good, and overall the steak had great flavor and was cooked properly. My only criticism is that the cut was a little tougher than I expected. For the price point, I was hoping for a slightly more tender steak. Speaking of price, this is definitely on the higher end for the area. Between two cocktails, my entrée, and splitting the appetizer with a friend, the bill came out to around $75 per person before tip. Overall, The Gin Mill offers a great vibe, excellent drinks, tasty food, and a beautiful setting. While the steak didn’t quite meet my expectations for tenderness, I’d still come back for the atmosphere, cocktails, and appetizers. We enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at the Gin Mill with the best meal I have had at a restaurant in a while. The macaroni and cheese was terrific as was the twice bake potato. I had the pork chops and they were perfect. Service was great and the atmosphere was as well. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We went to the gin mill for our anniversary because of the great things we had heard about it! Unfortunately our meal was quite lack luster. The spinach and artichoke dip was phenomenal and the ceasar salad and mac and cheese were great! The twice baked potatoes were overcooked on the outside, but the flavor was good. The steaks were where we had problems. I honestly should have sent my steak back immediately but I really hate doing that. I got a filet, and just looking at the outside, it was not a great cut. I also ordered it medium, and it definitely came out on the more rare side. I also got a not so great bite at the end that turned me off from the entire thing. The steaks just lacked flavor, it tasted like there wasn’t even salt or pepper on them. Pretty disappointed! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–60 Food: 3 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
