We were looking for eateries late night ard elevenish. This caffe was open with attractive lights and atmosphere n the menu outside the shop looked great. Pastry displays looked great. We ordered lasagna, Caesar salad, roasted chicken with potatoes and veal steak. We sat down started reading reviews, (shud hv done that earlier) but we were hoping ours will be a better experience. But truly what everyone else has said is true. My lasagna came with dried out sheets, with only the Center part was soft n edible. The sides n under part did really look like dried out in the microwave or something. Presentation was worst than a store bought one. Veal can with ice berg lettuce n 2 slice of tomatoes. Caesar salad was nothing great. The roasted chicken with potatoes also came with the same iceberg lettuce n tomatoes. Total we had 3 plates of iceberg lettuces. They don’t take a tiny bit pride in their food. Disgrace to Italian cuisine. Please don’t waste your money. Go further down the lane for other better eateries. Don’t be deceived by the outer appearance. The only good part was the waitress who spoke in English was nice. And yes, their card machine n POS machine were broken. So we hv to pay in cash. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5

Disappointing experience near the station. I expected a premium price due to the location, but this cafe was massively overpriced even by those standards. The service was disorganized and confusing, making a simple stop stressful. They also refused card payments, forcing us to scramble for cash. There are far better, more honest places to get coffee and food in Rome. Save your cash and skip this one.

When in Rome, do NOT go to U. Giuliani Caffe My husband and I spent two weeks traveling Italy, from big cities to small rural towns, ending in Rome. On our last morning in Rome, we stopped in U. Giuliani Caffe for breakfast. When we went to the counter to pay with our Visa (which we used even at small stores in remote towns) the woman at the register claimed to speak no English and pointed to a sign taped to the register saying “out of order cash only”. As it was our last day and we were in a majority city, we had spent all our cash. The cashier said “ATM” and pointed next door. Due to the high volume of pick-pocketers in Rome, we carried only one Visa card when we went out, leaving all other cards in the hotel safe. The cashier heard our conversation saying my husband had to back to our hotel to get our debit card to get cash while I waited. While I waited, I stood near the register, watching other customers encounter the same problem using their card, all of whom had cash to pay. After about 20 mins, the cashier indicated to other employees that she was out of small bills and coins and had no change to return to customers. At that point, the cashier pulled out the card reader for the next customer. She then told me in English to pay with my card. Clearly, the card reader was not out of order at all, they simply wanted customers to pay in cash. She was aware of the enormous inconvenience and expense we were incurring having to send my husband back to the hotel to get the card to get cash with high ATM fees. Upon reflection, the out-of-order sign taped to the register appeared old and faded, curling at the corners. This is apparently their business model - inconvenience customers to increase their profit. There are so many good restaurants in Rome. Choose another one. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
