This restaurant is famous for its name, but shouldn’t be for its flavor. The house jajangmyeon (공화춘 짜장면) has soft noodles but the seafood is too chewy and undercooked. The 육개장 portion was small and lacking in ingredients. A relatively flavorless soup base. No wait on the day we visited. It was an inexpensive meal but I won’t be back here again. I wouldn’t rush back to Gonghwachun after my visit. A couple of the vegetables felt undercooked, especially the potatoes and pumpkin, and when I mentioned it, I didn’t really get a helpful response. The meal itself was fine enough, but that part left me disappointed. Meal type: Lunch

Overall the jjajangmyeon was good. Rich with so much flavor as advertised. We had the sichuan sweet and sour pork and it was a hit. I am not sure it’s a repeat when we come back to Korea but the food was good and the vibes were decent. Meal type: Breakfast Price per person: ₩20,000–30,000 Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
