Absolutely love this food truck! Been here a few times and I would highly recommend especially if you need some good late night food! The pasta is always good and so is the fish I plan on trying everything on the menu! Also the staff is super nice and friendly my kind of people :). I came here by choice. I passed other options specifically to put my dollars into a Black-owned business. That intention matters, and I want the owner to understand what I experienced. Walking in, no one acknowledged me. The woman at the front continued her personal conversation as if I were invisible. A young man behind the counter was the only person who offered any real assistance - he deserves recognition. The QR code menu system created unnecessary confusion with no guidance offered. I waited 25 minutes for fried shrimp. In a kitchen environment, that timeline signals something worth examining internally. The food arrived. The experience did not. Black-owned businesses carry something beyond commerce - they carry the responsibility of demonstrating that we show up for each other at the highest level. Every patron who walks through that door made a conscious choice. Honor that choice with eye contact, a greeting, and some urgency in the kitchen. I will try again, because I believe in what this business could be. The potential here is real. So is the gap between that potential and what I experienced today. Goodies Soul Kitchen deserves the hype. The catfish was fresh, hot, and perfectly fried, and THE BANANA PUDDING COOKIE was ridiculous. Clean restaurant, good music, and the customer service made the experience even better. Hard to find soul food this consistent nowadays especially on a food truck. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $30–40 Recommended dishes: Jerk Chicken Pasta, Fried Fish
