We recently celebrated a family member's milestone birthday at the Grand Orient, which was an event that took many months to plan and organise. From the beginning, we were impressed by the staff's professionalism and promptness in responding to queries and as the date drew closer, they were even more helpful, especially in reminding us of the various aspects we still needed to decide and in giving us clear prompts and deadlines. On the night itself, we had a few last-minute absentees (that we were able to advise prior to the event) and we were particularly impressed once again that their food portions were packed up and provided to us, and their chairs were removed so that there were no glaring spaces. The dishes themselves were delicious - while the 'romantic' lighting did make it difficult to take photos, that didn't detract from the quality of the food, which received many positive comments from the attendees. Especial thanks go to Lauren for her friendly and efficient coordinating in the lead-up and to Janice for her leadership of the staff on the night. We had a wonderful time and would absolutely recommend the Grand Orient for a function. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
