London is truly guilty for this level of service. First of all, had to wait to be seated for around five minutes. A very important note— it’s a Tuesday evening— there are not that many people, the restaurant is practically empty. The hostess comes up and seats us at a table directly under a neon light. I suppose it’s a fairly okay table for when the restaurant’s busy and other seating arrangements are impossible to make, but that was not the case yesterday. I kindly ask to be moved to a different, nicer table with a better view, but my endeavours get rejected as apparently everything is booked. By the way, that table was empty the entire evening we stayed there. However, this review is not about the unfortunate fact of me getting a bad table. We order our food and drinks (a pint and a glass of wine), and after twenty minutes of saliva drying up our mouths I realise that I am going to have to take matters into my own hands. I come up to the bar and get the drinks from there myself! After twenty minutes of waiting! As I do that, people at the bar start smiling and nodding at me as if in agreement that it’s the only way to go. How’s that acceptable? There was no apology, no excuse given from our waiter about the fact that we had to be our own waiters. Keep in mind that the place is half empty. The service started getting exponentially slower from that point on. After 45 minutes of waiting (we ordered a burger and a sandwich), we had to fetch another waiter to ask where the food was. Upon returning from the kitchen we were notified that our orders would take 15 more minutes… for a sandwich and a burger… This restaurant is not a world class kitchen, our meals were definitely not worth the wait. A notable fact: other tables next to us also started complaining about slow service. I am assuming they had to wait for their food for an obnoxious amount of time as they had three separate conversations with the server in a proper British manner: “we know it’s not your fault but we are very hungry and it’s been a very long time, people are having to leave already”. As we were already discussing with my friend that these situations were unacceptable (yet we were still debating whether to leave a review), something finally made us adamant about leaving an official complaint. My friend ordered a Pornstar martini and set a timer accordingly. After fifteen minutes, we get brought two pornstar martinis. As we mention that we ordered one drink only, the waiter picks up the second drink and spills it all over us. I am assuming this was from a lack of understanding of what to do, but then the waiter tried to pat us with napkins? We are not touchy people unfortunately. There was a puddle left from a pornstar martini on the floor as well (still a mystery why it was there), and the puddle was not cleaned up. A man from another table put a chair above the puddle so it doesn’t become a safety hazard. Photo attached :). People come to restaurants for ambience, great food and nice service. If people don’t want that- they have their meals at home. I don’t want to mentally bond with other tables on how terrible the service is. And it’s clear everyone thought that :). We had a wonderful evening at Guilty London! The food was excellent and we truly appreciated the variety of dishes. The ambiance was very nice, creating a welcoming atmosphere. A special mention goes to our server, Pamela, who was friendly and attentive without being intrusive. My two daughters were absolutely charmed by her, and they had a fantastic conversation that made our experience even more enjoyable. We highly recommend this restaurant and look forward to our next visit! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: £20–30
