I usually use self-checkout at H-E-B, and one thing I don’t like is that I can’t see my coupon savings as I’m scanning items. The savings don’t show up until the very end, which means I have to go back through my receipt and verify everything rang up correctly. On this visit, I noticed one of my items didn’t receive the discount even though I had already saved the coupon to my profile. When I asked for help, the employee’s first question was whether I had just saved the coupon. I didn’t understand why that mattered. If the coupon is saved to my account, the discount should be honored without any hassle. We’re only talking about a couple of dollars, but experiences like this can be frustrating and may cause customers to shop elsewhere. I wish H-E-B would allow customers to see their savings in real time while scanning items instead of waiting until checkout is complete. It would make the process much more transparent and customer-friendly.

The fruit and veggies are not quality! Most of the items are expired. They leave old cut up fruit on the shelves without discounting them. I just paid $10.71 and got home to eat the fruit. It’s all shriveled up and rotting. The sale by date was yesterday. There is also hardly any baggers. I ended up bagging my own groceries and forgot to give my coupons. I expect better quality from HEB. I will keep going to Whole Foods in McKinney. Even Kroger has better fruit and veggies! I do like True BBQ, although every time I try to eat at the one in Prosper they are out of turkey. Overall I’m very disappointed.

We all got food poisoning after eating the HEB brand Blanco Queso, and ended up with hospitalization and 8k in medical expenses. Almost emergency surgery, and HEB deflected all responsibility and despite numerous promises to let us know what the test results were from the package we returned to them, they have not. Even tho the package said HEB , their corporate office said they have no responsibility even without the test results. The Prosper Health Department did not even call us. Would avoid this place if you can. I have never gotten food poisoning buying my groceries at Walmart, or any other store for that matter. They lied to us and didn’t care, we almost had to have our intestines removed. We loved HEB before this happened to us! Beware, they will not accept responsibility for any of their actions. We will be shopping somewhere else!
