Although this is a late post, I wanted to share our wonderful experience from our visit on December 28, 2023. It's been a while since our last visit, and we were not disappointed. The restaurant is beautifully designed, offering a great atmosphere that perfectly complements the exceptional food. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The staff were friendly, attentive, and ensured we had a pleasant dining experience. We made a 5:00 PM reservation for two, and the service was prompt and efficient. We started with Char Grilled Octopus with warm breads. We followed that with Lamb Banjo and Crispy Potatoes with aioli. We're already looking forward to trying the latest menu on our next visit! I recently visited Hadiqa for my birthday on a Saturday night, hoping for a fun dinner and drinks with friends. I had made a reservation a week in advance, but unfortunately, the experience was a huge letdown. Upon arrival, the table set aside for us was dirty, with empty glasses everywhere. We had to ask the waiter to clean it, which was a bit surprising considering the state of the table should have been addressed beforehand. Once everyone had arrived, we tried to order drinks. The majority of our group wasn’t drinking alcohol and wanted mocktails, but to our disappointment, the restaurant didn’t offer any. This felt like a major oversight for a place catering to a broad clientele. After some back and forth with the waiter, we managed to come up with a few mocktail options that were average at best. Then we went to order food, only to be told the restaurant area was fully booked and they couldn’t serve us. I was baffled. I had a reservation for dinner, so what was the point of booking? We were offered the bar menu instead, so we decided to order everything on it. Unfortunately, many items weren’t available due to a lack of ingredients, leaving us with only a handful of options. We placed our order and waited and waited. Forty-five minutes later, I asked the waiter for an update. He checked and told us the food was being prepared, but it took another 10 minutes before it started arriving. The first dish, the potatoes, were great—crispy, flavorful, and a highlight of the night. Unfortunately, that was where the positives ended. The octopus was mediocre and definitely not worth the price. The beef skewers, however, were burnt to a crisp, making them inedible, and the skewers themselves looked like they had scraps of meat left on them—disappointing. To make matters worse, we were then told we couldn’t have the lamb sliders we had already paid for. After some back and forth, they refunded us for the sliders and skewers. The meze plate that followed was yet another letdown. Overall, the prices were far too high for the quality of food and service provided. The lack of attention to detail, poor menu options, and disorganized staff made for a frustrating experience. It seemed like management had no control over the situation, which only made things worse. Given the disappointing food, lackluster service, and high prices, I won’t be returning anytime soon. There are far better dining options in the area where food, service, and atmosphere are much better aligned with the price. It really is disappointing given that it is a great venue.
