After enjoying Izu Teddy Bear Museum, go to Hanafubuki that is not far away. Japanese cuisine provides authentic meals at this place. It's easy to find this spot due to its great location. Come here for perfectly cooked sea bream, sashimi and seafood if you are hungry. Trying the great japanese tea is a nice choice.
The staff is hospitable that's what makes Hanafubuki so good. Visitors say that the service is fine here. When you enter this place, you notice the calm atmosphere. This place is ranked 4.6 within the Google grading system.

We just finished a day stay and was not convinced at all. Our tour operator suggested to stay there but in my mind there are much better Ryokan. If the place gets a face lift , improves the kitchen in a big way and fixes some obvious issues they may go back to be a famous place but I will strongly recommend my friends to avoid at all costs. We arrived and told abruptly check-in was only at 15h but then one of the other staff members said come back at 13.30 once they saw us wet from the incessant rain (Note we were a family with children... ) The town in December is basically dead. We had no stop rain and nothing to do. The Ryokan is very dated and many things are probably from the 80s. The place does need an update for sure. Heating only in the bedroom and a small study room upstairs but the bathroom and common area cold ! We were near 603 and the baths there are open air which in December is basically useless. One of them had in theory outside door to close but they were broken ! This to me in Japan is unacceptable. Also not clear to me why for open air ones for example they would not provide a bathrob to help with the low temperatures.. We had their dinner which was not good ( and we tried many restaurants in Tokyo): -Rise was overcooked - fish medium quality and this morning still had the taste of one of the sashimi camping back up - service lady not so open minded ( we asked for 2 children menus because my teenager sons skipped the not so great dishes but she brought a portion which in Europe would be for one and one of my sons skipped dinner because she did not want to bring a new one.. ). This morning we had to pay a small amount just to get a bit more yogurt and we had to ask for bread a few times. Breakfast was actually good with great tea but they are lucking a small buffet section where to take some extra items without having to ask them everytime. I had always the feeling they were never happy when you asked things. Thks God they have some non Japanese staff which seems a little more open to service. Tried an indoor onsen which was ok but once again many things look so old.. we are in 2025 and for the price you pay , you simply expect more. Service: 2

Our friends recommended Hanafubuki to us, saying they were amazed by it — and now I understand why. I expected a nice traditional ryokan, but it turned out to be a paradise on earth. Everything was impeccable: 9 different private onsen, spacious Japanese-style rooms, and incredible meals. The staff were the kindest and most attentive — they truly do everything to make your stay perfect. The service is outstanding! The location is magnificent, surrounded only by nature and other ryokan: pure peace and relaxation. Check-in begins with a tea ceremony and a touch of aroma oil, followed by a full guided tour of the property. All the onsen are open 24/7, making it wonderfully romantic to visit them at night. The traditional dinner and breakfast completely blew my mind — it was easily Michelin level. I attach a pic of our breakfast. Service: 5

Service was great and in rainy weather u can go to one of the many bathtubs. Nearest seven eleven is just 15min away and I recommend to try it
