I really wanted to like this place. But my Americano tasted like it was made with a reused puck - it was tasteless. The mushroom cheesecake was very aesthetically pleasing and I will give props to the beautiful craft, however I was disappointed. I’m not sure if any real cheesecake was used. It was very gelatinous. The white chocolate stem and brownie base were delicious but it didn’t make up for the overall let down. Can’t complain about the price because I can appreciate the time and effort that went into creating the dish, but it’s really just meant to please the eyes and not the tastebuds. Drove 54 minutes outside of Raleigh just to come visit this shop. Heard about it from my mom who was in the state visiting from Texas, she found this location from Tik Tok. Parking lot situation SUCKS. There was only 1 parking spot in the back corner of the parking lot behind the shopping mall that this shop is located in. Got raged on by a girl in the parking lot, so I gave up my spot to park across the street and walked over to the shop with my mom. Get inside the shop and there is NOWHERE TO SIT. The same girl that raged on me in the parking lot I guess was meeting a friend, and we spent the whole time getting dirty looks from her and her friend. Luckily someone was leaving as we ordered so I grabbed a booth. Same rage girl from the parking lot and her friend decided to point and scoff as I got the booth, then went SO FAR AS TO take a picture of me at the booth? Like what is that?? (My mom was a witness to this whole situation, so I know I sound crazy writing this but I’m not) The staff that took our order was nice enough, and the pastries are SUPER CUTE. Got our coffee orders, and both drinks were watered down and bitter, hardly any taste. My mom got a sandwich, and the sandwich was dry and lacked flavor. We sat around for about 45 minutes and the seating situation didn’t clear up, nor did the parking. All in all, I will NOT be returning to this shop! Absolutely loved my visit to Idle Hour Coffee Roasters! The ambiance was warm and inviting, the kind of place that instantly makes you want to stay a while. The interior is beautifully designed, with cozy seating and just the right vibe for a relaxed coffee break or getting some work done. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, greeting us with a smile and making the experience feel personal and genuine. The coffee was Incredible. You can really taste the quality and care that goes into every cup. Highly recommend stopping by if you’re in the area. Idle Hour is a gem!
