The setting here is genuinely hard to fault. Sitting right on Lake Washington, the atmosphere alone makes it worth a stop. That part delivered. The food, though, is another matter. The clam chowder was thin and watery, which for a seafood bar is a bit of a basic miss. The fish came across as little more than upscale Gordon's fish sticks, which is not what you're hoping for at an Ivar's. Somewhat disappointing for what the menu suggests. Worth noting that the Kirkland location executes considerably better across the board. If you have the option, that would be the one to choose. The Renton spot earns its place on atmosphere alone, but the kitchen needs to catch up with the view. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 2 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I did an online order for a full boat and some other things. I wanted Cajun fish. I called as soon as I placed the order to have the fish changed to Cajun since you can’t do that online. I called over and over for 10 mins and no answer finally someone answered and I told her I wanted to change the fish to Cajun. She told me they already started that order I said well I called for over 10 mins and no one would answer the phone. She said well there’s nothing we can do. Anyways I get the order and there are no forks or spoons and I ordered soup and cheese cake. Oh and no crackers for my clam chowder! For 100$ i would think I wouldn’t have to Ask for those things. Price per person: $90–100 Service: 2

There is no sun today, so eating with a view of Lake Washington is not as great as it is during the summer. I have not eaten at an Ivar's Seafood Bar in 12 years. Great to see that their quality is still there. Food: 5 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4 Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Recommended dishes: Fish, Chips, Chowder, Tartar Wheelchair accessibility: Yes, there's a ramp coming from the parking lot.
